Perspective Drawing Views

A Drawing View can be created from a 'saved view' in the model in perspective mode. The limitation with this is the perspective is applied to the drawing view but the saved view orientation is not.

To overcome this limitation, a macro is available for free download that applies a perspective to a drawing view with a specified focal length.

Select a Drawing View and run the macro from a ribbon button.

The image bitmap is provided with the download. Place the image and the PNG file in the same folder so that the image is automatically applied to the ribbon button to which the macro is assigned in Solid Edge.

An Input Box appears where the focal length can be specified:

Enter a Focal Length value between 1 and 300 and click OK. The perspective is applied and the view updates.

image The view might take some while to update depending if it is an assembly and contains several parts or if it is shaded, etc.

image The macro will work with:

  1. Assembly and Part Isometric Views.
  2. Orthographic Views.
  3. Part Views.
  4. Exploded Views.
  5. Virtually any Drawing View.
