Solid Edge SheetMetal Workshop 3

Step 6 :


This will create a rectangular shape for the sheetmetal stock part.
Click the Finish button in the upper-left corner of the screen.
Now you will see the isometric view of the stock part being created
Click anywhere in the blue graphics area again to apply a thickness to the sheetmetal stock part.

Step 7 :


On the menu bar, select Tools > Options.
This will open the Options dialog box
In the Options dialog box you can change various settings for the sheetmetal part.
To change the thickness of the stock part, click on Part Properties as shown in figure below. This button is circled red as shown below :

Change the sheetmetal part thickness to 2.
After that click on the OK button.
Observe the sheetmetal stock part. Its thickness has reduced from 3 to 2.

Step 8 :

Click on the Flange clip_image004[6] command on the toolbar.
After this move the mouse cursor to the edge of the stock part.
This will highlight the edge in red color as shown in figure below :

Step 9 :


Click on the edge and start moving the mouse in the downward direction.

Step 10 :


Click to finish this step.
This will automatically create a flange as shown in figure below :

Step 11 :


The length and angle of the flange will also appear.
Next you will change the bend angle.
Click the 90 deg angle of the flange with mouse.
Type 120 as the new angle and press <ENTER> at the keyboard.
