Solid Edge offers a huge advantage when using .dwg files

If the drawing contains blocks then they can used in Solid Edge without the need to import it before using.

Just pick on dwg file in Library with Blocks enabled and Solid Edge will recognize blocks from the AutoCAD file.

The last step just drag block and drop it.
